We provide professional dog grooming services tailored to your pet’s individual needs. From a refreshing wash to full grooming and oral care, we ensure each dog receives a safe, calm, and positive grooming experience.
Owners must disclose any known health conditions affecting their dog prior to grooming. These may include, but are not limited to, cardiac issues, arthritis, neurological disorders, allergies, or other medical diagnoses. Special Paws will take reasonable steps to adjust grooming procedures to reduce stress or physical strain, but shall not be held liable for any health-related incidents that arise as a result of undisclosed or pre-existing conditions.
In the event of an accident, illness, or injury, I authorise Special Paws to administer basic first aid and, where necessary, to seek veterinary care for my dog. A suitable local veterinarian will be chosen at the discretion of Special Paws. I accept full financial responsibility for all veterinary care and any related transport costs incurred during the provision of services.
It is the responsibility of the owner to disclose any history of aggressive behaviour, including biting, fear reactivity, or intolerance to specific grooming activities. Special Paws reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service at any point where there is a concern for safety. Muzzles may be used where appropriate to prevent injury. This does not harm the dog and is strictly a safety precaution.
Dogs with matted coats require special attention. Severely matted hair may necessitate shaving to prevent pain or injury. Removal of matting may reveal hidden skin conditions, parasites, or wounds. Special Paws is not liable for any such conditions becoming apparent during grooming. If fleas are discovered, a flea treatment shampoo will be administered at an additional charge. Ticks will be removed, and owners advised to seek veterinary testing for Lyme disease.
Where heavy matting is present additional charges may apply, due to the time taken to remove the matted fur.
Grooming tools are sharp and, despite all reasonable precautions, minor injuries such as nicks, scratches, or clipper irritation may occur. Pets that move unexpectedly or resist grooming may be more prone to accidental injury. Special Paws will make every effort to groom safely and notify owners of any incidents or observations that arise.
Owners are advised that shaving double-coated breeds can permanently alter the texture, colour, or ability of the coat to regrow. Special Paws accepts no responsibility for regrowth issues following shaving where prior consent has been given. Shaving does not assist with cooling; in fact, it may impair thermoregulation. Deshedding alternatives may be offered upon request.
Appointments may be cancelled or rescheduled without charge with at least 48 hours notice. Failure to provide adequate notice or failure to attend will incur a fee of £20 per dog. Repeat cancellations may lead to refusal of future bookings. We appreciate your cooperation in respecting our appointment-based business model.
Special Paws shall not be held responsible for any lost, damaged, or stolen personal belongings. Items such as collars, leads, or accessories may be removed during grooming for safety and returned upon collection.
I grant Special Paws permission to take photographs or video footage of my dog before, during, or after grooming sessions. These images may be used for marketing, social media, or website content. No personal identifying information will be shared. If you do not wish for your pet to be included, please notify us in writing prior to your appointment.
